VCK, CPI, and Congress stage protests against Amit Shah for his remarks on Ambedkar

Cadres of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), the Communist Party of India (CPI), and the Congress staged protests separately at different places in Tiruchi on Friday condemning Home Minister Amit Shah for his remarks on B.R. Ambedkar.

Attempts by a group of VCK members to hold “rail roko” at Tiruchi Railway Junction and at Manapparai station were foiled by the police.

Holding party flags, a group of VCK cadre raising slogans assembled near the Tiruchi Railway Junction and took out a march towards the station. The protesters were arrested by the police.

A group of VCK members were arrested near the Manapparai station when they attempted to stage a “rail roko”. Demonstrations by the VCK members were held at Musiri, Kallakudi, and Thuraiyur in Tiruchi district.

In Tiruchi city, a group of CPI cadres staged a demonstration at Woraiyur demanding the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah for his remark on Ambedkar. 

A section of Congress members, led by the party’s former Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president Su. Thirunavukkarasar, staged a demonstration near the Tiruchi Railway Junction condemning Mr. Amit Shah and demanding his resignation. They condemned the BJP government for registering a case against their party MP and former president Rahul Gandhi in connection with the scuffle in Parliament on Thursday.
